Food Intolerance & Digestive Issues

A food intolerance is the inability to digest certain food types that often result in uncomfortable and sometimes debilitating symptoms, such as bloating and flatulence, stomach pains and cramp, nausea, diarrhoea and constipation. 

This can be caused by sensitivity to caffeine or natural sugars, a lack of enzymes required to digest certain foods or reaction to certain additives and preservatives.  Working together on a plan to understand what you may be intolerant to, limiting and substituted these in your diet whilst supporting gut health, allowing the gut to heal and sometimes reintroducing with certain foods or enzymes can help regain some amount of tolerance.  Focusing on overall gut health and the integrity of the gut microbiome can be key in many cases.

 

Many digestive issues can arise from intolerances themselves, but there can be many other factors that can play a role in this highly attuned bodily system. By having a full in-depth consultation with myself, often these can be highlighted, and behaviours and lifestyle and dietary plans made together to successfully minimise and control these IBS type of symptoms for a long-term health solution, holistically providing a better digestive health outcome.
