"After discovering I was a few points from being pre diabetic, my GP suggested cutting all sugars including carbohydrates for 6 months. With my very physically demanding fitness job I felt I was unable to do this. Rebecca suggested I monitor spikes in my blood sugar by using a continuous glucose monitor (CGM). Along with a food and physical activity diary we discovered quickly that fasted cardio was responsible for my only high spikes in blood sugar. Following Rebecca's guidance I trialled eating small fibrous meals a few hours before any cardio-based classes. This brought down the high spikes in blood sugar and we eagerly await the next 3 months blood test results to see how much I have lowered my original score by.
